Victory #73

It was the 73rd time Pakistan beat India and it was without any doubt the sweetest one because it was an ICC event final and the way Pakistan annihilated India it doesn’t happen any other day that we crush their egos so badly as Indian media and Indian fans thought they were invincibles, it doesn’t happen any other day that the ball doesn’t dislodge the bails and the opponents oversteps the line of control, it doesn’t happen any other day that you can get Kohli on two consecutive deliveries, it doesn’t happen any other day that probably the weakest batting line-up of the tournament posted the highest total of the tournament and the strongest batting line-up of the tournament was dismissed under 200 but it happened that day when we beat India the 73rd time when we batted like 2017 and we bowled like 90’s and the team that was struggling to even qualify for the tournament won the Champions Trophy. You know what a cornered tiger does? He attacks back that is what exactly Pakistan did. Continue reading “Victory #73”

MIS | YOU

“In the history books, my name will come with him and he is a legend.”

The biggest fan of Younis Khan is Misbah-ul-Haq himself, the amount of respect they have for each other was the sole reason they managed to carve out a team after the spot-fixing debacle, which also made them the most successful pair in Pakistan’s Test Cricket history with ‘3213’ partnership runs only two pairs scored more runs in partnership at a higher average than Younis & Misbah, which also made Pakistan the unbeaten team of this era at home (in U.A.E). Win It for Misbah

Three days and two sessions of total domination bowling out England in a day, then getting a healthy lead of 100 runs and then Pakistan did what they did in Leeds 2006, Galle 2009, Sydney 2010, Cape Town 2013 and now you can add Birmingham to that long list of matches in which we were ahead for most of the match and then gave away all the hard work in a matter of 2-3 sessions. Lords of Cricket

In 2010 where every thing went wrong for Pakistan Cricket at the Lords Cricket ground here we stand again in 2016 things have changed alot as Amir is back his first Test since his return, now Misbah is the most successful Pakistani Test captain, we have Yasir Shah probably the best leggie after Shane Warne as he ripped through the English batting as Wahab mentioned it before the match that England have a fragile batting line up.  Continue reading “Lords of Cricket”

PSL

Pakistan Super League which was a fantasy a couple of years back when this idea was coined by PCB chairman Naseem Ashraf but it is now the next big thing for Pakistan Cricket thanks to Najam Sethi and Shahryar Khan for resurrecting this idea to stage a international level domestic league as every Test playing nation (except Zimbabwe) have launched it’s own league even Bangladesh has done it before Pakistan.

Even this time PCB faced many hurdles in launching PSL as Pakistan is currently a no go area for foriegn players so it was a infeasible idea to play this league in Pakistan and UAE was staging MCL (Masters Champions League) at the same time. Qatar was considered as the second option for some time but than Emirates Cricket Board slotted in PSL with MCL.

PSL comprises of 5 teams lets review the strength and weaknesses of the squads:
