Lords of Cricket

In 2010 where every thing went wrong for Pakistan Cricket at the Lords Cricket ground here we stand again in 2016 things have changed alot as Amir is back his first Test since his return, now Misbah is the most successful Pakistani Test captain, we have Yasir Shah probably the best leggie after Shane Warne as he ripped through the English batting as Wahab mentioned it before the match that England have a fragile batting line up.

Misbah has done wonders to control these erratic bunch of players since 2010 debacle, he led a team which hasn’t played a Test match in 8 months, a team which hasn’t toured England for a Test match series in 6 years, in the mean time our neighbors India have visited England twice and have lost seven Test out of nine, Despite all that Pakistan managed to crush England in their home conditions as Amir shackled the stumps of Jack Ball to register a famous test win inside four days. This test also saw some interesting records being made:

  • Misbah becomes the sixth oldest centurion in Test Cricket’s history.
  • Yasir Shah becomes first Asian to claim 10-wickets at Lord’s.
  • Yasir Shah 10 wickets were also the most by a Pakistani bowler in his maiden Test on English soil.
  • Shah’s figures of 10-141 are also the best by a Pakistan spinner in England.

It’s also Pakistan’s first victory in Lords since 1996 and surely it was the best celebration in Test Cricket’s history that too on the home of cricket.
