Afridi blitz in vain

After a miserable ODI series Pakistan more or less started the T20 series in the same fashion until the 2nd T20 in which Pakistan bowling was all over the place with the exception of Afridi who’s pace and drift was there after a very ordinary performance in the 1st T20.

In chase of 172 Pakistani fans were not expecting much from the team after watching there recent performances, but Ahmed Shehzad who is now a days in and out of the team hit some meaty blows to put the English bowlers in pressure right from the start of the innings on the another hand Rafatullah just couldn’t replicate his domestic T20 performance on the basis he was selected in the team, Akmal was unfortunate to be a victim of a wrong judgment by the umpire but it was Afridi who turned the match around thrashing Woakes for three sixes in which one of them off a no-ball, after Afridi’s dismissal Sarfaraz took up the challenge by sweeping Willey for four but after that he also couldn’t held his nerve and got out sweeping a yorker.

Four required for victory from the final ball Anwar failed to make contact with the ball and Pakistan lost yet another limited overs series/match despite the loss it was an improved performance Shehzad looked in full confidence Afridi gaining his form back his bowling influencing his batting is a good sign for Pakistan cricket.

Stats:
