India would have thought that their total was safe enough to beat South Africa but wait a minute this is T20 cricket any total can be chased and defended.
Rohit Sharma maiden T20 century guided India to a comfortable total of 199 partnership between Kohli and Rohit had given India a great platform. They have added 50 in just 35 balls and have looked very comfortable against spin and pace . Imran Tahir seems to be a good bowler in indian conditions but due to the dew he barely managed to spin a single ball and was smashed all over the park.
South Africa started their chase very positively as Hashim Amla and Devilliers added 77 in no time but Amla was finally dismissed while going for a quick second, after Amla’s departure Devilliers brings up his fifty with a sublime drive off the pads as he was looking really threatening Ashwin bowled a nicely tossed up delivery that beat AB in the flight, spun past him and hit the stumps, two wickets in two overs for India put the host back in the game.
Duminy put on a good stand with Behardien, Duminy three sixes off Axar Patel in the 16th over put South Africa closer towards victory. Sreenath Aravind had to defend 10 off the last over but it wasn’t enough for India the way Duminy was playing.
South Africa won by 7 wickets (with 2 balls remaining)
